Default Is this too much???

I have a '98 Vette A4 and am going to get a cam put in next week. The tuner recommended a cam with the following specs:

230/226 .591/.569 112 LSA

I am going to get the PCM reprogrammed by Ed Wright...do you think I should stick to a 114 LSA or would the 112 be ok to go with if I have my PCM programmed? Would this idle very rough/lumpy? Given it's going to idle lumpy, but would it be irritatingly lumpy? By the way this is a daily driver.

Oh one more question, would this cam pass emissions in TX?

So just as long as all the bugs are worked out by the programming I should be ok then...with the AC, idle, and emissions? I will be leaving in about an hour to go put a down payment on the stuff so I need yalls opinion QUICK!!! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

You wont pass emissions with the cam.
I would go 224/224 114LSA TOPS if you are worried about emissions.
Cheers,
Chris

If you arent having Ed tune the car on his dyno, don't bother. I have seen lots of bad tunes come through the mail.

That cam should idle just fine, im sure it could pass emmissions if you had a pair of good cats and the car was running properly.

The best tune jobs don't come mail order all the time. Nothing against Ed Wright, he has a lot of satisfied customers from what I can tell. But, assuming everything on your car is perfect the tuning should be fine. However if I had mail order tuning for mine I still would have been leaner then hell and we would have never known. Get a dyno tune if it means that much to you. I ultimately had to get bigger injectors to handle the extra fuel needed. Just my $.02 worth.
