this worked great for me
1. Get some fishing line and tie it around the pick up bolt, so incase you drop it you can just pull it right out.
2. Place the pick-up bolt in a open-end ratcheting wrench
3. Hold the bolt up to the threads, and start it with some needles nose pliers.
4. Get the bolt finger tight, and pull off the fishing line, then tighten with the wrench
Took me about 5 min using this process. And the fishing line saved my *** big time.

Blk97WS6 suggestion is the same way I did mine and had no problems, except I used thread since it's easier to break than fishing line. Also you can try to lower the oil pan to give you some more clearance in there.

That was probably the most stressful, aggravating part of the entire H/C swap!!
Lower the pan. You should already have a rag covering the pan opening to prevent anything from falling in there. The fishing line is not needed if you follow the directions. I believe it tells you to cover the pan in the directions on the howto website. Then I had to face away from the motor and reach down with the my hand facing the motor and slip it up in. Like you were standing inline with your arms hanging down, hand cupped facing behind you.
I would agree that this is one of the most frustrating parts of the install. Lowering the pan will help, just be sure to have something down to catch any drip toward the rear of the pan if the front of the car is up.

thanks for all the tips. it took me a while and probably cost me years of my life, but i got it up there. the new h/c's are rockin hard. makes it worth all the heartache when you hit that throttle the first time!!!
