Default LS1 339 Head Casting Number?

I know of the 806, 853, 241 numbers. Does anyone have or seen a 339 casting number? What was it stock on? Thanks, Dan

Was there ever any answer to this?? How do they compare to 243 heads and what's the 339 head value?

I don't know what these heads are either but I have a set on my recently acquired LS1 junkyard motor. The engine came from a 2003 Corvette. The patina is consistent between heads and block so I don't suspect anything nefarious on the behalf of the junkyard.

Maybe the PO. Who knows.

Never heard of that casting number...are the exhaust ports oval or d-port?

i think the 339 head is a cousin to the 806 head.

339 and 806 both came on early (97 and 98) LS1 engines. Not sure how they flow even compared to the 241's let alone a 243? Do you know what year Corvette it came out of? I'd guess a 97 or 98.

All ls1 heads flow nearly the Same and will perform equally as well. Apples to apples, switching from an 806 to say a 241 will not gain or lose you anything over dyno/weather variance size power.

241s are the best ls1 heads due to the spm casting method which equals smoother ports and better flow even if it somewhat marginal

The difference, you will never see on any dyno, any drag strip or feel on any butt dyno. Yes, they are "the best" but the difference is not worth the bandwidth this thread takes up on the net.
