Default Car running hotter after Heads/Cam Need help.

I just installed my ported heads and C2 cam. Now the car seems to run around 196 deg. Do this seem right? I have the 160 Stat and the fans coming on first Stage 184 off 175, Second stage on 195 off 186.

How can I check my cooling fans? The fuse looked ok. Are the only fuses under the hood, or is there one in the car?

I had to replace my coolant sensor. So would the new one be effecting this some how?

Any help would be aprricated.

Thanks

Pop off the radiator cap when the car is stonecold, the fluid should be right up to top.

The radiator is full of coolant. The cooling fans are both working. Could the thermostat be stuck open? When I start the car it starts circulating coolant.

I got up to 96 today. I've never notice the car running this hot per autotap. Since I put in the 160 stat.

Thanks for the help.

Sounds like you need to burp the cooling system to me. You probably have a small air pocket that needs to get out and causing your engine to run warmer, mine done this after the cam install. Open the radiator cap and unplug the hose that runs through the throttle body on the drivers side till coolant runs out then you should be good to go <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

mine ran at 205 afterwards with a 160 in. i drained it and put more coolant in thinking there was too much water. its now about 180. i have 11.1 compression so i dont know if itll go lower. ill try the tb thing though.

Once you sort out your issue with running hot, i reccomend and use a 18 psi Cadillac radiator cap. This raises boiling point of cooling system and keeps air pockets from forming as easily as stock cap.Win win situation IMO.
