Default LS6 valvesprings?

Well, I really don't want to have to change out valvesprings. I just picked up some < 100 mile 243's off an '07 Vette and would rather run a smaller lift cam with more duration as opposed to having to swap out the springs for stronger (more expensive) ones. I have an LS6 intake going on as well, trying to make things easier/cheaper so I can get everything rolling this summer sometime. I am looking for 400+ hp, any suggestions? Should I not be a bitch and go T-rex or something big? Thanks!

Blake

I wouldnt waste my time with a cam that was small enough to use those springs. Go for at least a 224/224 cam.

That didn't take much persuasion.

Not at all. I mean, I got those heads for a steal, the guy just wanted to get rid of them, I figure with those heads, intake, LT's and that cam with some new valvetrain parts and a badass tune should yield me my goal of 430rwhp. I hope so anyway.

ASA cam can use LS6 springs, do a search and see people seem to be pretty happy with the torque and power its generating.

I see, well I am pretty much sold on the TREx V2. I am probably going to need bigger injectors though, been looking at some newly used LS2 injectors (33.9lb/hr), but am not sure if they will work on my stocker rails.

I agree, I think the GT2-3 is a great cam for a STOCK set of heads. I understand that on the stock LS6 heads, the exhaust does not flow as well as the intake. So wouldn't you need more duration on the exhaust side? Seems like the cure all cam is 224/224 224/228 224/230............BTW, it won't make the noise that other cams do, if that is what you are into

Hmm, well I will be porting the exhaust ports extensively and a bit on the intake.

TREx not a good choice for this setup? I am shooting for 430rwhp.
