Which oil for high mileage car?

Which oil for high mileage car? No it's not for my LS1. It is for my beater car though. It just turned 140K and it burns oil more than most people's LS1's. It's a '91 Eagle Talon. Patman, what would you suggest?

Re: Which oil for high mileage car? If it's burning a lot of oil you'll probably want to stick with a conventional oil, and maybe even go up one step in viscosity to a 10w40 or 15w40. In the 15w40 I like Pennzoil Long Life, as it contains 153ppm of moly.
The high mileage oils also work well as they tend to be on the thicker side of their respective viscosity scales, plus they contain some esters in the base oil to help stop minor oil leaks. Valvoline (Maxlife), Pennzoil and Castrol all make HM oils, but Valvoline recently got rid of the moly in Maxlife, so the other two are probably the better choice. I'm using Maxlife right now but am switching very soon to Schaeffers 10w30 blend.
