Default Bottom End Question

The car, not mine.

Got the engine on a stand before I rebuild my car.

I've never torn town a bottom end. No reason to now, necessarily, but since it's on the stand this is the time to check things out. 66K miles before we totaled the Formula. What's your opinion...

> Change the rod bolts. This looks easy. Any reason not to do just the bolts? Anything I should watch out for?

> What about crank/rod bearing inspection. I have no reason to expect a problem (no knocks or oil pressure problems, etc.). Is pulling the main caps to inspect advisable? Looks from the shop manuals like the M10 bolts can be reused and the M8's must be replaced? Any thoughts

> Anything else?

Or, ('cept for the rod bolts) if it's not broke don't fix it.

Thanks in advance for your advice.
