What is the major diffeneces in the 4.8 Liter Heads? Would these heads work on 98 Trans Am? Would I need to have them ported or what would it take to be able to use them?

Try doing a search for the 4.8 or 5.3 heads.I believe they are the same heads.I too want to run these heads on my 98Z28. <img border="0" alt="[pimp]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_pimp.gif" /> <img border="0" alt="[Z06 Corvette]" title="" src="graemlins/z06.gif" />

 

The diff is the cc of the chambe. The 4.8 head has a smaller chamber , witch will give you comp

 

The new gm hightech mag has a 02 ramair with 4.8 heads on it.

 

and put down like 445 to the wheels.. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

 

You will need new valve covers and all associated hardware for the coils to mount to convert to '99 style covers...

Where can you get these heads and how much are they? Do they flow as good as the 5.7 LS1 heads stock?
