i see guys running around 11.5 with timing reduced for street driving. then they raise timing in ls1edit and splash in some 104 octane race gas for when they are at the track. everyone has different opinions on it. i'd like to know the answer to this question as well. my local shop told me that our compression ratio's are high enough for the pump gas we have(reformulated crap). i don't know, plenty of people on these boards are doing just fine with their 93 octance.

Depends on your altitude. I am running 11.8:1 compression on 91 Octane gas at 5800'. At lower altitudes you will need higher Octane gas.

In Texas I would stay below 11.3:1 unless you plan on using race gas.. Stay safe is my best suggestion. With a good set of heads.. You will be happy..
