A higher ratio should give some small gains. Just the roller tip with a 1.7 ratio probably nothing.

I've been running YT 1.7's since 2003. I installed heads at the same time so no power gains could be noticed from just the rockers. When checking clearances etc, I noticed they provided a better sweep pattern over the valve tip than the stock rockers. I also noticed a quieter smoother valvetrain than before.

You guys are some serious ********. Where the **** in my post did I say anything about power? Some of you need to learn to ******* read. I asked a simple question and I was expecting a simple response, not a bunch of BS and useless smartass comments.

All I wanted to know is if anyone used them and how did they like them. No ******* **** there isnt going to be any real power gains, I knew that already.

I cant wait till one of you ****** ask a question that i find stupid, ill be sure to go out of my way to make you feel like an idiot..

It isn't that I was being a smartass...well, yeah, I was. But seriously...there have been a lot of threads about this lately, and if you would have just taken the time to do a search, you would have found plenty of results and opinions. You really just need to stop being lazy and do some footwork yourself instead of posting up a new thread about a topic that has been beaten to death countless times...

Brad, don't let them blow you some **** because you asked a dumb question.

You just tell them to

My take on the RR's is that they are more stable and efficient. Less friction on the valve stems. I have a set of comp pro mags 1.75 I used on my last set up. They are up for sell if you are interested.

I plan on buying some 1.7's soon. But the stockers are going to have to do for now.

IMO, there are only 3 kinds of aftermarket worth the effort. Out of which only 1 has good power gain.

Comp Magnum 1.75
Jessel (my favorite)
and
Crane 1.72 variable lift.

YT, Harland, PP etc... are junk (like problematic). (not the new lightweight YTs but I do not have enough data on them yet)
This is IMO

I can only relay my experience. I spent last winter setting up my Dart heads on the workbench. I had checking springs installed and first tried the stock rockers. I found the wipe pattern was wide and in some cases off to the side of the valve stem (you can see this by looking at the rocker tip as well). I also tried shimming them and while I could move the patttern around on the valve stem, it wasn't acceptable in my opinion and I was worried about valve train stability at higher RPM.

I then set up the Crane roller rockers. Due to their adjustability, I obtained a much narrower and centered wipe pattern on the valve stem. So in my opinion, they are worth the effort to setup and install.

I really wasnt referring to you. I didnt search because I am on here all day at work anyway and i see most of the threads that come through and I have not seen to my recollection a thread about roller tip rockers anytime recently.

Yeah, I am not looking for power gains out of these anyway, I would buy them as more of a stability mod.

This is the type of thing I was looking for, thanks man.
