Default Help please New Motor =No Oil Pressure

I just got done installing my new motor tonight and after I filled it up with all the fluids. I started it. I unplugged the coil packs to prime the oil pump. I gave it a good 30 seconds of cranking to try to prime it up. Then i plugged everything back up to start it so i could add the rest of the antifreeze. I let it run for bout 5-10 seconds and no oil pressure. Got under the car checked the sending unit on the back of the intake and it was plugged in. So i start it up again for another 5 seconds or so, still no pressure. So what gives? I have a Engine Works double roller chain on the motor. I had my factory pulley turned in a lathe to clearence the oil pump ring. So i dont think it would smash the pump ring. Could it just be a faulty sending unit? I may have mashed it a lil puttin it in but i dont think it could have hurt anything. Someone please give me suggestions. Thanks Justin Hagerman

Also on this could it just be the factory gauge or the wires. They put plenty of assembely lube in the pump when it was built. Thanks

These message boards are useful, but for the money you spent on the new motor, I think I would be calling the shop that put it together for you.

pull off a valve cover and crank it...don't start it, have someone watch the rocker arms for evidence of oil flowing.
