Alright i am gonna be picking up some STOCK 5.3 heads because i heard they are an upgrade over the LS1 heads. Im getting them for 150$. Remember they are stock, not ported or anything. Would slapping them on my stock engine show any gain?


Also, i plan on a cam this summer more than likely. Will the stock 5.3s show anymore gain over stock unported heads on a cammed car?


I figure ill pick them up now for wicked cheap. If i wont see any reasonable gains from them in their stock form, then ill just wait till i can get them ported to throw them on.

Those heads flow less than a stock 241 head, but do bump up the compression a little. I'd keep what you have for now.

youll actually lose power over your stock heads now, just because you increase compression doesnt mean much without flow....get them ported or their gonna be worthless
