Default Forged Bottom End

Looks like it's time to redo the bottom end. I am getting too much blow by and now the oil pressure has dropped 20+psi across the range. My thoughts are doing new stock bore LS1 block/Lunati forged crank/forged pistons/good rods.

Question is it better to stick with the Lunati 382 stroker package or go to pistons like JE and some other type of rods to use with the Lunati crank ? What is a good choice for rings to use ? I am looking for daily useage/solid reliability not necessarily a drag strip car.

I already have GTP Stage II heads CC918 springs TR220 cam/LS6 intake/LT Headers which I would like to just reuse even though I would have more displacement.

While researching this myself, this board said speed pro plasma moly file fit rings for no oil leakage and reliability. From what I understand you do want to pay attention to rings as some are designed for oil usage but work well at sustained high RPM's. http://www.moreperformanceinc.net/ had tons of parts for at least a baseline in pricing. I've also read that if you're not going to race the crap out of it, the stock rods are fine as long as you use ARP bolts or better. JE pistons are fine but you will have to get the block honed and bored at .05 to correct for the pistons. That last figure may be off as to how much; do a search. Remember to replace the oil pump and timing chain; users here prefer katech and jwis. Again if not beating the snot out of your car the stock crank is fine; get it polished up. Hope this helps you get started!

I point out this is what I found in research; I am by NO means an expert on engine building!
