Default Question about the Isky's 295-D's

After all the recent things about the 918's I decided to be safe and not use the ones I bought. Im returning them to Thunder racing along with the retainers. I've been told to go with the Isky's. When my return gets taken care of I was going to get a set along with the ti retainers. But i've read a few posts and I've got a few questions. I havent heard any breakings of iskys, other than the inner damper. And to contol that with special "cups" for the springs that require machining. But I've also heard thunder sells them with out the damper so all is needed is the retainers? Someone please enlighten me about these springs. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

I'm in the same boat. I installed the 295s with the ti retainers yesterday without dampner. I'm boxing up the 918s to go back to thunder. Everything installed fine, we'll see how they run. . .

What is likely to happen if the inner dampner on the 295-D breaks? I have had my thunder 224 in my car for roughly 7000 miles. I installed it last November. I was planning on checking the springs outn around 10-11K to make sure everything looks alright.

Thanks.

Jim

First, you can run the springs without the dampner, yes. I believe soon there may be a 295-D spring that has a shortened dampner so incase a spring does break at least the dampner will hopefully hold the valve up some. Dunno what ever came of that tho so dont hold your breath.

Second, the same retainers everybody used with teh Comp 941 springs will work with them.

I have a set I will sell for $100 + $5 shipping if you want em.
