Minimum Piston to Valve Clearance
I understand .100” is safe, but maybe some have gotten by with .075”.
This is important for me as I look for a camshaft to fit the L92 heads.
My Scoggin-Dickey built 402 has -14cc Mahle pistons and I am thinking of either of the two Comp Cams camshafts:
1.) XE-R 236/248 .602"/.615" 115+0
OR
2.) Grind: 3732R-3737R-HR114 .612/.616 lift, 244/248 duration, and 114 LSA
The head gasket is a Cometic that is .045 thick when compressed.
Thanks
Either of those 2 cams should be fine since you have -14cc's in the pistons.
1.) XE-R 236/248 .602"/.615" 115+0

In my 402 currently I have 236/242 .615/.612 113+5, peaks too early. I'd like to be around 110ICL, but changing cam for turbos.
Just my observation, 236/242 110LSA +0 would be good cam for a street driven 402/408.
