Cam wont go in!

read the cam swap section and follow the steps from the point you are at. Do a little at a time re-read and proceed.
pay attention to the pickup tube little blue ring, make sure you put a new one in and really make sure you do not pinch it. If you do you'll have to tear down again after startup if oil pressure is low.

The Best V8 Stories One Small Block at Time
The goal today was for my helper and I to get my pulley off, remove the old cam, and install the new one.
Well, the pulley came off easily enough, but trying to get the old cam out was a BITCH. It kept getting stuck about 1/4 of the way out!
Afetr almost an hour and trying different ways, I took a 2 minute break to pee, by the time I got back out to the garage, 'bingo', somehow the cam had come out.
Getting the new one is was a bit of a struggle, but abotu 15 mins and it was in.
Next step is the hard part, swapping out the springs, thats next weekends project - oh joy!
Be absolutely sure the crank/cam gears are dot to dot and don't leave anything in the oil pan.
Unless stangkiller is close to you and can deliver I'll overnight it to you. Crane dual spring tool. pm me for details. I have permission to post my rental offer ( its in the tool section). Others have used it and like the deal.
I used the advanced auto parts loner puller with no problem getting the pulley off.. but when i needed to pull off the crank spocket to put double roller the advanced one was to short..so i found a 8 inch 3 jaw puller that worked fine for getting the sprocket off...
