Default What gives when springs bind and pushrods doesn't bend? CC 941's

Application is not LS1 but theories still apply.

97 3.8 Firebird. Cam is a COMP XE 212/212 .520/.520 112LS. Pushrods are Trickflow chromoly.

Springs are CC 941's.

I did heads/cam about 2K miles ago. Right after heads/cam car became a dog and picks up MAJOR false knock.

I pulled valve covers last week and found 6 broken inner dampeners. They were binding. 5 on the passanger side and 1 on the driver side. When the springs were binding, something had to give. Either the pushrods would bend or the lifters would compress more, at least I think. The pushrods are all straight though. So what took the hit? I'm thinking the lifters did.. I probably have a bad lifter which is making my knock sensors go crazy.

What do you guys think? Anybody else have a similar problem?

I don't really have any help to offer, but if you need another set of 941s, let me know. I have a set with 5 miles on them.
