just installed my heads and cam

mti stage 2e heads
longtubes
230/236 592/602 on a 114 +4 installed dot to dot.
all supporting mods and an ls1 intake till my ls6 gets here next week.


this thing is backfiring like crazy and wont hold an idle if i keep my foot on it @ 1000 rpm it runs and sounds great! i plan on getting it tuned this next week. will this go away?

is it normal.. everything sounds great no abnormal engine sounds. just some loud A backfires below 1000 rpms. i let it run today for a total of 20 min.

just want to make sure its ok.

 

The same sort of thing happen when I fired mine up. Check the grounds on the back of the heads. Be careful not to cut yourself reaching back there lol.

 

i just got my 232/236 112LSA fired up and I had similiar issues. Are you using the stock injectors?

thx man i figured it was a tuning issue.

thats pretty much what i needed.

my grounds are in and good!

ill get her up to the tuner next week and see where we are at on the tables.
