Compression check
Well I checked my compression and heres what I got.
#1 150-175 #2 85-125
#3 125-175 #4 50-80
#5 105-180 #6 75-100
#7 125-150 #8 105-160
These are with oil. I'm not sure, but I wonder about the
head gasket between 4 & 6. Maybe leaking valves.
When these engines wear rings, do they do it evenly, or
can the numbers above be just a ring issue?

Re: Compression check
The engine is out of the car (Sebring MX). I dont need it so I guess its time for a rebuild.
What do you guys think would be best for a car that weighs about 2400 lbs wet.
Here's how the car is setup now:
Ford 8.8 traction lock with 3.73 gears in it.
Stedda adjustable upper and solid lower control arms
LS1 from a 99 firebird
T56
No Cats, but stock (ls6 tri-y) exhaust.
True Duals 2 1/4"
X pipe
Bullet mufflers
The engine is so far back that the drive shaft is about 18" long.
I'm thinking about:
TEA stage 2 5.3
TR 230
I may not have room for full length headers so maybe stage 1 and a TR 220
Your thoughts please.

Re: Compression check
Well I took my heads in and had a 3 angle valve job done. They also flated it out with a .008 cut. I had to shim the lifters up .090 mills just to do a compression check. All cylinders are now at 170 to 175. The guy I took it to builds ASA LS1 stuff. He has a whole warehouse full of LS1's. Wow! Said that he had done an ASA valve job on the heads. Seems like a lot of shimming though.
