Default Oil pressure on startup

Ok, I have noticed that over the last couple months that on random start-ups my oil pressure is at 0 then jumps to 38psi after about 8 seconds of my check gauges light being lit. It will just do it on random occaisions. Doesn't matter if it is hot or cold outside, or whatever. It does worry me a tad though. Motor is built for nitrous, and has severe duty nitrous rings and pistons w/ it's fair share of blow-by . This was all put in with the new valvetrain and oil pump (LS6). It may have about 15k on the motor by now. Always comes back to pressure everytime though. Thinking maybe my gauge is slowly taking a dump, or the oil pressure sender might be on the outs. Any ideas? This happen to anyone else?

Ehh, it might not be too bad. I have often thought about selling it, but since it is built to use it...The whole motor would have to be attatched to it.

If the engine isn't clattering until the pressure comes up, it's got to be the sending unit or some other problem. If you really want to make sure, you could pull the sending unit and put an analog gauge in it's place temporarily for testing or find another place to tap in for the analog gauge. Don't know how much trouble it would be with all of your nitrous plumbing.

I have another sending unit, so I will probably just swap it in and see.
