Vette's sound good with a harsh idle, but just as long as you don't run cut-outs....otherwise it makes them sound like a white trash tractor plowing up the roadway. Takes away from the sleek factor.

Nice cam. Welcome to the big stick club!
That thing idles like it was already warmed up though....wasn't searching for idle or anything. If that was a cold start, I would say that you should get a discount on the tune.
HaHa, thanks man! I only have to pay for dyno time since I had my car tuned there 2 years ago for the full exhaust and full lntake mods. I'm thinking that's what makes the idle find itself so quickly....in the video is a completely cold start. I have a wideband 02 sensor hooked up to my A/F ratio gauge on my pillar pod and it's actually running a good A/F ratio at higher RPM's. The tune needs to take care of the excessively rich condition at low RPM's and keep the idle steady...

[QUOTE=Vette1171]So I spent my Saturday installing a cam and I am so glad that I decided to do so. The car sounds great and even though the cam is huge....It doesn't affect the drivability all that much. I do need to thank TSP for their great customer service/products and thank my buddy for helping me during the install making the process that much faster. Specs of the cam are in the video and I will be going for a tune next Saturday...at that time I'll update this thread with dyno numbers and probably more vids. But for the mean time...enjoy!

Diff one of the cleanest vettes I seen. Specs on wheels please? Brand size? Thanks keep up the good work!

Aw, weak man....that's the worst thing to have to re-do on an f-body....and it's still not fun on C5's either. Sorry to hear that bro!

I got the tune done and some good video of it (I will post that soon). The final numbers were 435 RWHP and 398 RWTQ. Those numbers are pretty good considering it was a really humid day when I got the tune and that the cam-only addition gained me around 50 RWHP

The numbers from my previous tune without the cam were 387 RWHP and 379 RWTQ so I gained 48 RWHP and 19 RWTQ…again not bad for such a humid day. I’m still working on the idle a little to get it doing what I want, but it still has a lot of lope to it!

I didn’t do any heads because in about a year and ½ I’ll be going to bigger cubes and some really nice heads so I didn’t want to waste the time buying 2 sets of heads so close together. Also I wanted to do a FAST 90/90 combo but the motor I might be building won’t be compatible with the FAST intake.

did you align the dots or did you advance the cam any? I will be purchasing that same came soon with the texas speed ls6 ported heads and was wondering if I should just put it dot to dot or advance the cam a bit.

Lined it up dot to dot. Since the lift and duration is so big I didn't want to take a chance of damaging the valves/pistons.

The hood is an MCM carbon fiber hood. You can't see it in the video but the top part of the cowl has the CF showing through where as the rest of the hood is painted. I have some other pics I posted when I first started posting on ls1tech of the hood....

Thanks everybody....I'm loving this cam....now if I could just get the idle do do exactly what it will be perfect. I'm going to go and have a little more tweaking done to the tune either later this week or early next week. Right now the car wants to idle at 1500 RPM's until I come to a complete stop for about 5 seconds then it goes back down to 850. I'm just going to have the tuner reduce the amount of air he lets in at idle so that should fix the problem...
