Default Quiet Cam

I'm looking to buy a cam but I was wondering what would be the best one to put in my car and have it be a sleeper. I love the way a nice lumpy cam sounds but for my daily driver I want it to be a little bit incognito. My goal is around 360-400 rwhp. Any help would be appreciated.

A smaller cam like 220/220 - 224/224 range on a 114 lsa should get you there and keep it somewhat tamed.

TSP's 224/224 XE and 224R off the shelf cams, alot of people have/had them and are a very good choice for what you want. But there are many out there, so do some homework, but you can't go wrong with the above. And it is strongly recommended you have the supporting stuff FIRST (like headers, CAI, catback..etc), before the cam install. good luck

Yeah I'm going to make sure the motor can breathe before I put the cam in, I was just getting some idea of what size cam to put in just in case I run across a good deal.

Maybe Patrick G. will chime in. He made impressive power with the Thunder Racing CheaTR camshaft. I'm sure if you search under his name, you'll find the thread.

I've had the chance to hear two CheaTR cam'd cars, and both were very quiet.

Get something that will have a less than -5 degrees of overlap and it will sound closer to stock. My 224/230 .581/.588 114+2 cam is -1 degrees and it doesnt have any lope to it hardly going through a chambered muffler with a dump.

You also need to decide where you want your power before selecting your cam - low end, mid-range, top end, spin to 7k?
