What kind of valvelash are you running (hot)?

I haven't really experimented much, but have mine set at what I gather most folks consider kind of tight (~.020").

I'm thinking of loosening it up to .026" or so and see how the car responds.

Any comments?

George,on my low-lash series the lash is .010"-.011" hot.On the race solid roller they are .024" hot.

The lash depends on the design of the lobe.

Just as Allan said, lash is determined by the type of lobes you are using, aluminium vs iron block/heads,etc.

I'd contact ARE and find out where they recommend setting it. Or just call Comp.

My old solid roller setup .009" cold (~.018 hot).

I guess it would be helpful in my case to be able to refer to the cam card...

I'll see if I can get ahold of Wade @ ARE, and keep running the lash at .020 for now.

ours stuff is 16-18 for our street stuff.

I would say they are definetly the guys pushing the envelope. My friend was told that he couldn't run a solid. Nobody would help him with suggestions on building a solid motor. "You'll beat the seats to death." "It will be too hard to program." "Nobody makes a valve or spring to work without heavy modification."

One very important rule in dealing with solid cams is that too much lash can actually damage the valvetrain. I can't speak for every cam, but .026 seems pretty high.
