Anyone running this BEAST of a cam?
Part # 88958606
Designed for Showroom Stock Road Racing
"This cam has higher valve lift, .570" intake and exhaust, than production camshafts. The duration at .050" lift is 239 degrees for intake and 251 degrees for exhaust. The lobe centers are at 106 degrees. This cam requires 2002 LS6 valves and valve springs. It has a broader torque range and higher horsepower range than the ASA racing camshaft."
106 LSA That's nuts! I'm guessing this thing would take a little computer tweaking.
Wonder what that combo will do?
Also, since it is showroom stock. No, it isn't for carb motors. It is for FI. But it will lope, and it will probably need some tuning.
I doubt it would pass a sniffer test either.

106 LSA ..... now there's an IDLE I can LOVE !!!

(that would be the perfect POSER cam !)
And I wonder why GM hasnt picked up on the reverse-split fad yet...

For N/A cars, that is all that it is; a fade. For N2O or FI cars, the reverse-split cam makes sense.

I would only run it with a set of good heads.

Wonder if that Cam is the one that they optimized for the LS6 CNC heads (the CNC heads were designed for showroom stock)?

I am positive it would not pass emissions either, and would need alot of tuning to work correctly.

They were using the ASA cam in that series, but it just wasnt cutting it. David farmer on Corvette forum and here too actually, has that cam. He got the cam at the 1st of the year, and that was it. No card, and was instructed that "katech will know what to do, just put it in and dont ask" pretty much.

You got that backwards. An N2O cam is biased towards the exhaust side. The GM Hotcam, for instance, makes a far better N2O cam than it does a NA cam for this very reason.
It has an idle around 1,200 RPM, and the drivability of the car just sucks.

So Trevor, when did you become an expert on the drivability of my car? It actually drives just fine and I drive it everyday.
I sent a PM back to ya. I'm not trying to step on your toes...no hard feelings.
Again, to each his own. The only person that has to be happy with your car is you. You should be happy with the power that it's making because it is performing well! I will retract my statement and just drive the car the next time I roll through Lubbock.

As I said, the CNC heads say they were developed for showroom stock. The camshaft sez that it is for showroom stock.
Would it be a leap to imagine that GM has done some testing to come up with this package, and that it might work well together?
I guess some mail to David Farmer is in order....
