I always run mine as soon as it starts. There's really no difference in letting it warm up the first 10 minutes down the road than letting it idle for 5 minutes before taking off.

Im sure people can debate that either way, let it idle, or just take off and drive it slow.

However, running it HARD right after you start it is pretty widely regarded as a bad move.

Was the installed height measured? Most people don't realize the springs don't set up at 1.800", it is usually lower.

There goes 1 of your motor's lives. With the next set of springs you'd better be careful about warming up the motor before going to high rpms, even if you're standing around talking to people who want to see you run through the gears when you leave. Those are the times when I end up harping on the car when it's cold.

Right when you reach operating temperature doesn't mean the oil has been hot long enough to heat the springs past the brittle stage.

If you were to tell a valve spring manufacturer that they would tell you thats the cause of the breakage.

Thats what they told me, and I let it warm up for a few minutes.
