Default Valve spring? *pics*

Car was acting strange today while running my buddy's stang, changed the oil tonight and found this on my drain plug. Had class early, was too lazy/tired to pull the vavle covers afterwards.

I would have just drove the car off a cliff if I had dropped a vavle, its a brand new engine.

I know, I was about to have mine crushed. Bought the car all stock. Ran nice but had to mess with it. i done a cam swap and the hell began. After a couple 100 miles it developed at bad tick, tried every differant length pushrod made, nothing helped. Then broke 8 of the comp 918 springs so then I switched to duals. ran good for just a bit and started ticking again. So I pulled the heads and put new lifters in AND a new cam again. Going back togethor I moved the ac condensor too much and broke the ac line. So now my air doesn't work. Anyway after all the **** it still ticks Not bad but I can hear it. It was quiet before I messed with it. I even have the correct length pushrods so maybe the ticking is normal with a cam, hell if I know. But I was very lucky when my single springs broke. It could of been bad.

Better hope that you don't have some spring metal bouncing around in your bottom end. That made it all the way to the plug? YIKES!

Looks like the upper pieces of the outer valvespring to me. I wouldn't drive it around anymore until I fixed that. How many miles on the springs?

01ls1lover: Not everyone has bad luck with a cam swap. Mine's going strong with almost 30k miles on it.

What caused this?! How many other failures have there been?

I'm going to be installing Patriots Gold Extreme springs and I'm pretty sure they come from the same factory.

About 7K on the springs. Running the TTP V4 Punisher cam which is a large comp cam, especially in the lift.
