ive also got 2.73! but your definitely gonna need a stall before a cam. im looking at a vigilante 3200 which supposedly stalls about 34-3500ish really. i would definitely do something bigger. something atleast like a tsp 228r or bigger. but eventually u might want to swap out those 2.73 for some 3.73 atleast.

yeah for sure I'm going to get a stall no doubt, I want to see what people think about my 98 heads with a bigger cam than the tr224, and my 2.73 gears, If i have to swap gears i will but I probably wont go higher than 3.23's

2.73 Gears really aren't a big issue. With a decent stall, you don't need to worry about low end torque. It starts to become an issue of tires (traction) and desired shift point. Since you won't pull much in 3rd gear at end of the 1320, a cam with a strong midrange would be a good choice.
If you have a very good exhaust, 228/224 109 107 would make excellent torque with stock heads.

i wish i had some dyno numbers to give you an example....i got a custom grind with the same duration as the cheatr (214/230), more lift (.601/.613), and a 112lsa and i couldnt be happier. its not bad to drive around or sit in traffic or whatever but the power is there when i want it to be. im on stock converter btw but i have 3.73's now.
before someone suggests a stall......
if i had a stall it would really go but i wanna do a 6spd next year so i'd like to make it through the season without buyin a stall.

mine is cam only on stock heads with 2.73s. DD is great too. You need a stall definitely though with havin the 2.73s. Traction is my issue now.
TSP Torquer 2 is 232/234 with 595/598. Mine is on a 113 LSA.
Just need a good tuner. Mine is drive tuned for the street.

Do a stall before a cam.
I had full bolt ons and was close to doing a cam swap but I went with a stall first. I put in a Fuddle 4400 stall with 2.5str and it was by far the biggest jump in performance I've felt out of ANY mod. Did I mention I have 2.73s too? As for the cam, look into a 228r if you are wanting a nice daily driver. Actually, I'd probably go with a Yank 3200-3500 stall, a 228ish cam on LSk lobes (you'll need dual springs), QTP HVMC headers, and then heads if you want, intake if you want, etc.
