Question buildup in fill tube?!

so here is the deal. just installed my h/c package. used new gm headgaskets and bolts(used the ls1howto.com torue specs). cleaned out the bolts whole for the new head bolts. had what looked to be coolant build up in my oil fill tube before the swap. thought that after the swap(new gaskets and all) the build would be gone forever....not the case. ran some oil throught it for a while after the install, still build up. just thought some coolant magically got in the oil pan when doing the oil pump. so i just changed the oil last night. looked at it today and it's still there. using mobil 1 now. it did however change to this white milky color with some yellowy coloring mixed in. is this just a common lsx motor issue or might there be something much worse going on in my pita car?

Cracked head? How does the car run? have you tried a leakdown test yet?

Hmm, coolant should not be in the oil, that is not normal. maybe its the gasket leaking.

Could be, cracked block, cracked head, blown gasket or uneven block/head surface.

Are you sure it is coolant or is is moisture buildup from short trips without the oil getting hot enough to evaporate moisture.\
You could do an oil analysis

my trip to work is only about 15-20 minutes. the car gets up to temp. pretty quick. what is the best way to find out if there is a crack somewhere in the block w/o having to take it to the machine shop??

I think you can get the cooling system pressure tested too see if it is indeed leaking, then you would have to track down the leak

I have developed this issue since a head & cam swap. Never had any moisture in the oil fill cap before. Mine is not anitfreeze though, it's just clear water @ the top of the filler cap and then a ring of the milky crap at the bottom of the filler cap. Oil looks fine. I don't understand why this never happened before & now it's doing it. I'm intertested to know what you find.
