2 heat cycles then wide open throttle.
I drove mine from the dealership to the racetrack.
(@ wide open throttle)then to the dyno and back to the track,ect.
I have abused my car since day 1 and it loves it.

I do agree with colonel and others on the 500 mi oil change,though.

buy it.
spend 2 days learning how to drive a standard transmission.
put a lid and skip shift eliminator on it.
spend 2 more days learning how to drive a standard transmission.
Hit the race track for some runs. Bounce off the top speed limiter on the way to the track.
Spend another week learning to drive some more, go to the track again.
Get a cutout installed
go to the track again and run 12.82
go to the dyno and crank out 333rwhp/351rwtq

Break in period finished! (all done within 500 miles of purchase)

xaon's recommended service intervals:

oil change every 3k-6k miles w/10w30 dino oil.
50 miles -> replace air lid and filter (ok... you can replace just the lid )
5000 miles -> new clutch and long tube headers
7500 miles -> new springs
10000 miles -> replace cam
15000 miles -> shooting for 12 bolt, but not sure if the funds will make it!

Your mileage may vary I beat the hell out of all my cars and they seem to all run extremely stout and last forever. (and never burnt so much as a drop of oil)

Dyno engines are taken up to temperature and then taken WOT as much as you want, cylinder pressure breaks in rings and the way to get cylinder pressure is with your foot to the floor

What does piston slap sound like exactly? Now that its cold out I notice when I start there are a couple prnounced sounds from the exhaust and at least after first second and third after a cold start I hear a couple sounds coming out fo the exhaust then it goes away. Is this what that is?

You wouldn't hear the piston slap out the back. It's just a little knocking noise from under the hood when you first start the car. As for the WOT from day one guys, now I see why all Camaros at the used car lots blue smoke when you start them.

I have 10k on my 02 T/A.I've been getting on it ever since I bought it.From day one I ran mine up to 4800rpm on a regular basis.I swear to god everytime I got on it,it got a little crazier.It developed a crazy wine(hungry growling sound)midway through second gear(A4).

My LS1 does not use a drop of oil.

I'm in my forties, have a little old school in me.We were taught to break em in the way your going to drive it.

One more ticket and I'm screwed.

I need to park mine,can't keep my foot out of it.
