Re: Should I do a test on GTP heads?
if you have the money....switch. get a set of 6.0 or LS6 heads and make it interesting, though. 2.02/1.60.
id be interested in seeing a test with 1 7/8" Grots (not stepped) vs. your FLP's.
with slightly better heads (especially if you used 6.0 or LS6, and the larger tube headers, id venture to say you could hit (this may be a stretch) 465-470rwhp.

Re: Should I do a test on GTP heads?
JMX,
I would like to see this sheet if you have it handy. F8L@starstream.net
I too bought my ARE S2 heads almost a year ago and I make dookie power! 357rwhp unlocked! I even switched from a 222/.534/114 cam to a 226/234-.554/.575-112 cam and only gained 1rwhp.
I just bought some GTP S2+ heads and matching cam from a guy that put down 437rwhp/419rwtq so hopefully I'll finally get 400rwhp out of my car.

Re: Should I do a test on GTP heads?
Ragtop 99,
After MTI fixed the heads it flowed about 290-295 @ .600
Ryan,
If I could get 470 from the head swap I would do it in a heartbeat!
Well, if I am going to do this exchange, I have to sell my ARE heads!
Ok, If anyone like to buy my ARE heads let me know! Let us do this!

Ruf, a few things
1) I have flow sheets of my ARE heads flowed on the same bench as my GTP heads. Email me for the jpg.
2) My ARE heads didnt have proper spring seats either, and the spring pressure was setup very low for the very heavier valves they installed in my heads (new springs are being setup on them now for the next owner, along with seats).
3) I bet you will gain power from GTP heads. You can even send your ARE ones back to thunder racing to have them flow tested against your new heads if you decide to do this (like I did).

jmx, can you email me those flow sheets as well? akw408@yahoo.com. That would be very interesting info.
ruf, what size valves did MTI put on your ARE heads?
