Installing Heads and Cam next weekend, do I have everything???
I have:
Heads (TEA S2)
Cam (TR 230/224)
Timing Chain (Katech)
Head gaskets (2)
GM Head bolts (New GM)
Cam swap gasket set: water pump, timing cover, valve cover, oilseal, pulley bolt
Pushrods (TR 7.4" chromoly)
Dexcool (1 gal enough?)
New 160* thermostat (replaces stock)
EGR & AIR Blockoff plates (For newly installed Hookers)
Oil & Filter
I have plenty of tools, anything else I'll need? TIA, Shawn

I use a used head bolt with slots cut down the threads as well as a whole bunch of tightly wound papertowels to clean out the head bolt holes. Loads of dexcool and other crap will get in those wholes, and you have ot clean them out VERY thoroughly. The used bolt that has the slots ground into it cleans the threads nicely, while the papertowels wound up tight cleans out the coolant. Keep doing it till its dry and clean.

Another tip: take the new head bolts to a wire wheel and remove the orange sealer from the threads. It comes from GM like that and it tends to get very hard. This will cause you to have inconsistent torque readings. After you clean them off, use some teflon sealer and torque to factory specs.
Also make sure when you remove the old heads you get all of the coolant out of the head bolt thread hole. You can do this with a shop vac with a plastic hose duct taped to the end. If you don't you risk the chance of, again, inconsistent torque readings because you are tring to compress the liquid in the hole.
Make sure you use some teflon thread sealer on the rocker arm stud bolts.
Good luck it's a great motor to work on!!
