gm lifter preload

Jay</strong></font><hr /></blockquote><font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Well, if Jay is correct, then I would have to say that .025" lifter preload would be about right for the LS1. That would center the lifter plunger in the lifters internal bore.
I always thought there was at least .060"-.080" of total plunger travel in most hyd lifters. That would make about .035" preload about right.
