come on someone has to have fooled with one before is it different or what

 

I run the 01 LS6 cam with decent results. You need to change valve springs for the 01 or 02.

 

Maybe a 10-15rwhp difference? IMO if you're going to take the time to swap cams, put something a little more worthwhile in there...?

 

well the thing is I can get a 01 Zo6 cam for like $50 and then I could afford to do everything now, this car is a daily driver but i don't know what i should do. I was just wondering if anyone has fooled with them and what there opinions were

 

if i was to do the work on the car i would at least make it worth my while, not saying the cam is "bad", but its alot of work for a little gain if any you will see and feel.
in my opinion, you would be better off saving a few extra $$ and purchase a b1, or some thing like a thunder reveres split of thunder 224. great choices. and by no means are those the only choices out there. comp makes a 216/220 split that rocks as far as dyno numbers too.

I have the Comp 216/220 in my '99. This cam is a little better than stock. No programming required, nice daily driver with just a little bit of lope. If I did it over again, I would probably go with the TR224.
I asked a similar question about a year ago and the reply was; "do at least the Comp 216/220, or don't bother". I believe this is still good advice.
