Default I NEED MORE POWER! Cam suggestions

I don't care about who makes them.

I want the biggest power cam for drag racing.

Heads will stay stock for now,I want to set some 'Cam only M6 records'.

I was thinking a split reverse 230 cam.

Give me dyno #'s(graphs),exact sizes,springs,ect.

I am not concerned with drivablity,I am concerned with kickin' major ***
at the track.

I may get a crazy Idea of trying to go 10's on just a cam.

you have picked a good cam for that. why dont you do heads, and spray a 150 shot, make a run for the 9s on a stock bottom end? that would be really cool!

opinions will vary but you cant go wrong with GTP's 226/226 591/591 112. or MMS's 229, or the TR 230 reverse, the X1/F1, etc, et all.

they will all do well. pick one out of a hat and tune the crap out of it. make sure that the ENTIRE car is working with the cam.

Hey just get a BIG torque converter so you'll hit peak hp as soon as you hit the go pedal. Then you can launch that thing like John Force.

Get the TR 230/224 cam and get rid of your exhaust in favor of 18" extensions with turndowns right off the headers. (track use only)

The reverse split cams are designed to help compensate for the intake being a restriction, BUT..... you need a free flowing exhaust for it to work well.

With that combo I can see LOW 11's this winter with stock heads still on the car.

I have been very happy with how this cam has worked so far. The times in the sig were in Memphis in June when the Density Altitude was around 2500'. The car was spinning on nearly every run. With some better air, more weight reduction (~3400lbs now), and a better 60', I can't see why low low 11s wouldn't be attainable.

I'm running the Comp 918s with the Comp 772 Titanium retainers.

Here is a dyno graph comparing the 224 to the 230 cam (through the y-pipe/cutout):

Think about this though. Dual cutouts will only ADD weight to the car. With 18" extensions you will drop the weight of the y-pipe and catback (Im guessing 50lbs) And everyone knows how much 01-Z loves to take weight off the car.

I read 'dual electric cutouts' and my first thought was...
That's TOO MUCH WEIGHT!

BadHabitBird knows me all too well.

Whenever I do the cam,I will dyno it with just the cam.
Then consider massaging the exhaust.

The best way to find power, one thing at a time.

Provide evidence that a Car with heads and cam witha 150 shot with Stock bottom end ran 9's without breaking the next day. BS
