Re: F1 Cam In!
That cam has put down some amazing numbers with stock LS6 heads - I'm very interested in how it will perform on stock LS1 heads....keep us posted!

Ok can somone explain if it is bad to put a cam this big on stock heads and why? It does not matter once you have springs, retainers and pushrods, or does it?

Re: F1 Cam In!
Stock LS1 heads it made mid 390's, with Mac headers, ORYpipe, and a cutout...(Or other catback?).
I wonder how it would do with some long tubes...another local (DFW) guy has the F1 with stock LS1 heads that should be dynoing soon.
I believe the cam is big enough that it's real advantage is seen when mated with some nice ported heads...or stock LS6 heads...

Re: F1 Cam In!
I just put an F1 in my TA today. I'm still waiting on the heads, but they are some ported 6.0L heads, with some Dynatech longtubes. I hope to have it running by Sat evening, if the heads are done. My bottle neck is the stock LS1 intake...anyone have a LS6 I can borrow
With the autos, how bad is driveability w/o tuning?? That is one thing I will lack, hopefully the convertor will eat up some of the driveability problems, shift points will be another PITA, I'm guessing as soon as the car starts to pull, it will shift.

Re: F1 Cam In!
Once you give the springs a few heat cycles then everything is broken in.These are not old school motors we are talking about here. All you have to do is crank her and drive and the cam is broken in.You can now nail it if you want.
