first, you have to define "best" before anyone can do much more than give an opinion.

best performance for the $$, $1600 for a head/cam package from TSP is a damn good deal BUT I could prob spend less on some used LS6 heads but I dont know if its worth doing LS6 heads...

bang for the buck, best would prob be some ported 243's and as big a cam as you can tolerate.

I've always had good luck with TSP. Good service and great parts at great prices.

They really do stand behind their product, which is something that is hard to find these days.

I'd give them my vote...

maybe not too much from 806/241's to 243's, but from stock 806/241's to PORTED 243's you most definately should.

241s are stock GM LS1 head castings...243s are LS6 head castings...

806s were commonly found on 98 LS1 powered cars...

LS6 (243) heads out perform 241 or 806 castings...and once ported, they do really good for a stock GM casting.

FWIW, I just put a set of the TSP stage 2.5 5.3s on my car a couple weeks ago. Don't have the numbers yet on my new setup, but so far the car does run good.

I've seen folks make up to 460rwhp on these with the right cam...

with the Trick Flow Cam,
there smallest one,

They make 3,

Of course I don't have aftermarket heads,
but I have been shopping

ummmm am I the only one who saw he doesn't want to rev past the stock limiter? Mind me asking why? I can't think of a real good reason not to just raise the limiter and rev the engine higher.

There are so many H/C packages out there, I'd spend a few nights and just read this board, you'll be sure to get a few ideas.

Good luck with your mods!
