Default Patriot heads. NEED HELP!

Im going with the LG5X3 cam on 112 LSA and a set of Patroit ls6 "style" ported heads with stock 2.00intake/1.55exhaust valves for piston to valve clearance.
I need advice on what cc's to go with and what size head gasket. The car is not a daily driver, but 99% of driving is on the street. I want proper/safe compression, while gaining the benifit of power in compression.

LG said: 59cc with .040 gasket for 11:1 compression. (although I was told that would make 11 1/2:1 compression, which is bad?)
Patriot said: 64cc milled to 62cc with .041 gasket for 10.8:1 compression.

Input? What cc's and what size head gasket?
Thanks.

if you're trying to save piston to valve clearance, milling is not the way to go. i don't know the specs on your cam, but the 59cc head with stock head gaskets will get you very close to stock Piston-Valve clearance.

Well LG doesn't exactly give the specs but I've heard its something like 232/240 .600/.610
How does that correlate with compression?

They don't publish the spec's, but they are floating around here. It is a little bigger than what was posted above, which is why LG recommends more compression. Since they weld the combustion chambers, you should be ok with valve clearance on a stock size gasket, but you'd get better quench with a .040 or .045 gasket and a slightly larger chamber.

I would mock it all up and measure the clearance with a .040 gasket to see how much you lose with .013 -.016 less gasket. You shouldn't have to flycut much at this duration (unless the heads are milled).

With the numbers I've seen posted, 61cc and a .040 gasket comes out to 11.51 SCR, 8.79 DCR, which is right where you want to be. If you have to remove anything at all, even 1 more cc keeps you at 8.68 DCR.

So you would say get patriot to do a 61cc and use a .040 gasket?
What is the stock size cc and stock size gasket?

compression makes horsepower guys, squeeze it for all you can get. the tuner will handle the rest.

A stock LS1 is 67cc and depending on what year gasket, they will be .041"-.052".

Hey Gunnar...what would a price be on a 243 casting CNC ported?
And do you recommend going with the 64cc milled to 62cc with a .041 gasket for 10.8:1 compression?
Is that extra? How much would my total be?

i was thinking more about piston to valve clearance

milling doesn't cost anything extra from Patriot

I just linked to this post earlier for another thread:

Any X series( G5, X1, X2, X3, X4, 111/112/114 excluding the xX ( which in most cases, thats install only here at the shop) will fit on a stock engine, 112 or 114. The X3 110 will not clear stock heads, but it will be close on the AFRs. You gain quite a bit of PTV with AFRs. If you are not sure, and want to know what your setup came in at, check it.
In other words, the G5x3 fits with stock heads and gaskets. Going with a thinner gasket may take up what little clearance is left, but the only way to know for sure is to check.

Im thinking of going with 59cc and a .040 gasket for 11:1:1 compression. Opinions on this?
