Default graphite head gasket + metal gasket.... HELP

i might be having a metal and a graphite gasket sent to me.... would it be ok to use one on one head and one on the other, or do you need to have the exact same gasket on both heads???

thanx!

I wouldn't mix and match...make sure you have a matching pair...

Default Head gasket issues.....

dazman to answer you question yes you can use two different types of gaskets....
It is physically possible.....I have done it in a pinch at the track when only one of my heads were leaking,,,,,I do although highly recommend that unless you are in a serious Pinch not to,,,,,,,,
I was curious after I had done that why bank1 and bank 2 where at such a diff temp.....I used two graphites on one side to compensate in thickness,,,,,
I torqued down both down to equal specs in the proper sequence......
After coming home I was quite curious .....I found that the graphite gasket had compressed more than the metal and had seemed to not dissapate heat as well as the metal...But in terms of science it makes sense *** aluminum dissapates heat rather well , as graphite has a higher R-value......

So basically yes you can do it but in my experience, Dont do it!!!!
