Ok.. for those who may have heard (read) my unfortunate story with my 02 Z28.... here is the update...
I got the new long block put in, verfied beforehand that is was a real crated engine. The dealer put it in and even detailed the car for me. I always make sure they fully understand that the car comes in clean, inside and out and without any scratches, and it will leave there in the same if not better shape. They spilled oil on the hood one day..... yahoos with oil guns don't mix with my car!
Car sounds better.. maybe a bit of piston slap but from what you al lhave told me and what I have read on this site.. leave it be! Much better to have some slap that does go away then let the dealer RIP apart my car again. I am hopful that I will once again get back the warm fuzzy I had with this car. Maybe if this car behaves it wil lget it's own license plate.
Husband has the car today, he grew up around street racers so he can "WEAR" it in for a bit... I get it back though!
Thank you all for all the suggestions .. this car will have ONLY Mobil 1 oil .. if it is good enough for th evets, it is good engough for me!
Enjoy
