Default What do you think?

I’m looking to mod my summer daily driver (2002 Trans Am). I would love to get the car doing mid to low 12’s on street tires.

What do you think of this?
• Comp Cam (525 532 216 220)
• 1.75 Comp Cam Roller Rockers (Spring?)
• Chrome or ceramic BBK ¾ length headers (reuse stock cats)
• Tune

If the above didn’t get me to where I want to be I would look at heads and throttle body next. I’m considering Edelbrock Heads (non-ported) and Edelbrock throttle body.

how about:
headers, exhaust, lid, tune, torque converter (if A4)

with good driving that should get you mid 12's in an '02. If you want low 12's or maybe high 11's then consider a cam, but for the proce of almost any cam out there, get something custom done for you using your own goals and specifications in mind...that way you don't have to worry about $400 rockers, and you don't have to worry about the cam not being exactly what you want.

do a search for Patrick G, he does custom cam recommendations, as do many of the vendors here. and yes, for ANY cam you install you WILL need springs, period.

lt for starters are you in CA?? why the bbk headers? rockers and really not going to help you with your current engine valve train. get all the bolt ons and full exhaust, ported tb, and see where your at, those heads will not full well at all in 3/4 length headers.

You'll have to add quite a few mods to your trans am for it to keep up to your gtp, especially the trap speed.

This is the other setup I'm considering - from Texas Speed:

1.)
Item# 25-225x/Cat
TSP Camshaft, 918 Springs & Pushrod Package
Texas Speed 224R Camshaft
LSA | 114
$599.99

2.)
Item# 25-225x/Cat
Pacesetter Headers & TSP Cat Y Pipe Combo
Header Style: 00-02
$700.00

3.)
Item# 75-109007
24" O2 Extention
$25 x 2 = $50

4.)
Mail order tune
$125

Any comments?

Thanks,

Jason
