Default Sheet Metal vs LS6 Intakes

I am getting ready to order the Speed Inc sheet metal intake and I was wondering if anyone knows what the differences between it and a LS6 intake? I know that the sheet metal intake will have less mid level torque and more higher rpm horsepower, but I would like to what numbers to expect. LS6 looks better on the dyno, but the sheet metal has been better on the track. It takes out some torque and is for engines larger than 400ci and boosted applications.

Wonder how it would work on a high-strung 382cid motor like mine (7500-7700 shiftpoints). I may be taking the sheetmetal intake route once I see some real positive results on similar running cars.

I don't know how much, but there has to be some power potential in the intake manifold. The LS6 intake is good, but can't possibly be the "end all" intake.

as a side note... after we get full boost in the shop car and run it more we will be trying different styles of the sheet metal intake trying to get the sweet spot...

I doubt anywone will get there though.

I am having a 422 built and am going to purchase the RGR sheetmetal intake. Does anyone know if the RGR comes with spots to tap nitrous? I want to run a direct port fogger system.

We can do a real nice setup with hard lines. Would you like to see a picture of the braied line setup? It'll take me a little while as the car is having the cage put in.

Hey John,

What would you expect for a 383 running a 300hp shot of nitrous via DP? Currently I have a plumbed LS6 intake. I am planning on upgrading to a 440 ( 4.12" x 4.125" ) Stroker in about 6 months or so.

I couldnt really saw with the 383, there wouldnt be much difference, the 440 should like it much better.
