When I get to a higher RPM as in racing, or even punching the throttle in 1st and 2nd. I hear a weird rattle in the motor. I'm thinkin it might be a bent pushrod or something. I have no clue what it is. The only thing I can discribe it to is a baby rattle. It's still under warranty and if of you could help me to find out what it is then please do. Thanx. by the way. it's a 2001 Z-28 6-speed with 30,000 miles on it....a lot of beach and chick runs <img border="0" alt="[pimp]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_pimp.gif" /> pleasehelp me out here I wanna get rid of this weird rattle. Yep, kind of sounds like you're describing detonation. What kind of gas do you run in the car? You may want to try some 92 or 93 octane fuel if that isn't what you're using already.
Carbon buildup could also cause excessive detonation. The easiest way to fix it (if that's the case) would be to pick up a can of GM "Top Engine" cleaner.

Well I don't think i have any carbon build up. I use the premium grade gas and use octane booster once a month or either a injector cleaner gas additive. I dunno if it's pinging or what's going on. It didn't do it when I first got the car and my '95 Z-28 didn't do it. I'm kind of worried about it. Is there a way to find out if it's pinging or if it's a bend push rod?? I'm going to take it to a friend Stephen "COLONEL" Sanders to see if he can figure it out. I dunno.
