need cam advise ASAP!
i ran my car last night for the first time with the new setup and was not happy at all!
i have curently a 222/230/534/544/114 ARE cam with a decent set of ported heads (300's at 600 lift). on the dyno it made 380hp (which i think sucks for heads and cam). i did build the motor for juice so the heads werent milled at all, and it has cometic head gaskets which are alot thicker than stockers, plus valve reliefs in the pistons. i want to run juice, but i also want good motor performance, so i need to pick a new cam possibly. or should i wait and see what it does on the juice?

Sounds to me like the cam is holding you back some on the HP numbers.
I have a cam for sale -
222/226 .566/.569 114LSA that made 378rwhp on stock heads with all the bolts-on and through a 12 bolt. It would work great for a nitrous setup. Send me an email, if interested.

I don't think your cam is holding you back at all. You have more than enough cam for your combo. Your stock exhaust manifolds is what is holding you back. Get a set of headers on that car, and you will see big changes.
BTW, you did not say who's heads you are running..
The only thing I can say about your cam is that its fairly low lift for the duration you are running. You would do well with a TR-224, but again, at this point, you need headers more than a cam change in my opinion. See what some others have to say.

Re: need cam advise ASAP!
i have headers already. with just bolt ons, i went 12.20 @ 114 already. now i have an ARE forged 346 with ARE cam and my friend that builds oldsmobile motors did my heads with good results.
is is a lower compression motor (probably around 10 to 1), so that is hurting me some i think.
i just want something that will give me a happy medium on juice and motor.

Looks like your running a split duration cam with a pretty long duration. Which will keep the compression down a bit in the cylinders at higher RPM. I agree that you need headers to come even close to the potential of the cam, but your on the right track with it. You planned the motor for nitrous, and it will run like a rapped ape when it is installed, however nitrous motors don't always run as high of #'s NA. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
