How high can you rev stock springs?

How high can you rev stock springs?
How high can you rev stock LS1 springs with the stock cam? I'm talking about 100% safe before valve float starts.
And then the same question, but 918 springs. Will 918 springs and stock valve train live together happily or will I need to replace anything else?

Re: How high can you rev stock springs?
My stock springs couldn't even take the stock limiter around 6000. They floated like all hell. Which probably explains their early demise at 23k (32k? something like that).
The 918's revved like champs all the way to 6200. Plenty of road racing and abuse. The lasted all the way to 53k until I went to a double spring setup.
Put some 918's on there and you should have no float problems at all.
Good Luck,

Re: How high can you rev stock springs?
I guess all things vary. I ran the stock springs in my '00 to 6500 (rev limit set at 6600 and was seen on occasion) for over 20,000 miles. No problems. My '01 has had the rev limiter set at 6400 for 9400 miles but I shift at 6200-6300. I'll be setting the limit on my '02 at 6400 and shifting at 6300.
...and some folks have problems with 'em at stock RPMS. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Confused]" src="images/icons/confused.gif" />

P.S...and if I were telling YOU what to do I'd say leave the rev limiter alone until you get some better springs in there. <img border="0" alt="[Burnout]" title="" src="graemlins/burnout.gif" />
