Who has the highest mileage on a 382 stroker? A longevity question. I am wondering what kind of longevity I can expect from a 382- 4" stroke motor. Since I will be investing about $4.5K in parts alone for a short block, I want it to last a while. Is it unreasonable to hope to get 50K miles out of it before a rebuild or refresh? I put 17K miles on my car in the last 7 months as a summer daily driver.That includes about 6 to 8 trips to the track a year with lots of daily street flogging. I will be using a brand new LS6 block with the lunati rotating assembly which includes King bearings and plasma moly rings.

Re: Who has the highest mileage on a 382 stroker? A longevity question. About 26,000 miles on mine and the oil use is less today than it was in the first three months. NO troubles at all with the rotating assembly. I am however very mildly cammed for a 382 stroker (MTI B1) and the car has never been to the track.

Re: Who has the highest mileage on a 382 stroker? A longevity question. I had my 382 rebuilt at 12K miles (not my choice, valvespring failure...) and now I have about 28K on the new engine. No problems yet. Oil consumption is a little more than the stock 346 due to the longer stroke but that's about it. I will probably do another refresh in the 60-80K range.
