Default 4 valves or 2 valves?

Per cylinder? Is having 4 valves, like on the Mustangs/Cobras, more beneficial than 2 like us? Please explain.

Ok this is simple.....it depends.
If you have a two valve head that can flow as much or more than a four valve then it is unlikely that there is any benefit. The reason is because you can set up a more favorable valve layout with a two valve head. With a four valve head you can have more of a problem with shrouding. Also it is my opinion that a two valve engine is more suited for street driving (in pushrod configuration) than a four valve (dual over-head cam setup). Threre are other more complex issues like tumble and swirl for each head but there is much division on how much of each a head can tolerate. If in doubt, keep your LS1. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

I had FAR rather have LS1 heads (or even better, LS6 heads, or even WAY better than that, C5R heads) than 4-valve Ford heads.
