Well maybe the 97's only had one, mine has 2. You need to unplug that PCV hole and plug the PVC hose into it.

Can you get a pick of the back pass side of the valve cover and post it?

Coolant temp sensor plugged in and working? It defaults to -40 if unplugged or not making connection which would flood an engine pretty quick with that much fuel. Other things are the PCM grounds on the back of the drivers head, for a c5 there will be only one eyelet with 2 wires going into it.

You might just pull one plug and see if its dry or wet with fuel just to eliminate that. There isn't no weird theft deterrant problem going on? Some C5's I've worked on needed a theft deterrant relearn after having the battery disconnected a few days. Like 1 out of 50 will do that.

The PCV hose goes from the driver side valve cover and the pass valve cover into a Y and then on to the manifold up front by the throttle body.

If he has a truck or any of the newer pass. side valve covers there is no provisions for the passenger side PCV hose. I end up having to eliminate the Y-portion and just putting a piece of 3/8" fuel line to only run PCV to the drivers side valve cover.

coolant sensor is brand new and hooked up. should be ok. the ground on the back of the head was broken off... i thought that was it, but after i fixed it it was still messing up.

now my car is a bitch with the column lock and stuff.. i have the column lock bypass and it is telling me to "pull key wait 10 sec" today. but it was doing that back before i even started working on car.

P codes are ASR desired torque, bank 1 lean, and bank 2 lean.

For the hell of it, unplug that damn throttle control motor which the throttle cable gets split by. this will disable ASR completely (while unplugged).

One thing I know is that if the gasket on the MAP sensor is torn: 1. you'll have a minor vacuum leak and 2. sometimes the MAP sensor will get a funky reading and make the car do some weird things.

Check and recheck everything. It would be hard to do, but I suppose an injector clip could get switched. Make sure all of your electrical connections are DRY. If there is any amount of moisture in there it will mess things up. trust me. Is every cylinder is getting spark? Those are my thoughts. Good luck.
