Default Cam bad?

I have been tearing down my engine (LS1) for the last couple of days for a rebuild and it appears the cam might not be in a usable condition anymore. The lobes that make contact with the lifters are very discolored, they are a brighter chrome in the middle with pits that you can feel with the tip of your finger. Does this mean this cam can't be reused.

Yes, but you might be able to have it re-ground. Comp does it for a little over $100 and you can change duration some, but not the ICL/LSA as they don't want to go through the hardened layer.

I take it you have a TSP MS3?
