Valvetrain Noise or Piston Slap My 2001 sounds like a sewing machine between 2000 and 3000rpm. I'm not sure if it is slap or something else, but it is very annoying. It does it whether hot or cold. Also my clutch pedal is squeeking. It kind of sounds like a spring squeek. It sounds like it is coming from the actual pedal and not the clutch itself. Anyone ever have this happen?

Re: Valvetrain Noise or Piston Slap Hey, you stole my car!!!!! I have the exact same knocking at 2000 rpms, and my clutch pedal squeeks which is very annoying. I will be getting a new master soon, and will take care of that problem. Try experimenting with different oil combos. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

Re: Valvetrain Noise or Piston Slap I am trying Mobil 1 10W30 (from 5w30) right now, but it still sews away. I may try some Redline 10w30. I need to take my car in to the dealer for a lot of things, but I never want to be without it so I keep putting it off. My horns sounds like a Honda horn now because they got clogged up with water. This is the second time this has happened. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Mad]" src="gr_images/icons/mad.gif" /> This will be my 3rd set of horns. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Sad]" src="gr_sad.gif" />
