Why does the LS1 rev so high with a small cam?
First I'd like to say, what's up guys? I recently bought an '02 Z28 so I'm new to the LS1. My previous car was a '95 383 H/C/N20/TH400 Z28 and I must say that I'm very impressed with the LS1 cars. My question is, why do the LS1's make such crazy power up high with a small cam as compared to the LT1? I mean, an LS1 with a 224/224 cam will rev just as high if not higher as an LT1 with a 230/244 cam. I'm looking at getting the TR220 cam and I'm just amazed at the rpm's such a small cam will make power to. This is such a great site with tons of usefull information. Anyway, now I'm just rambling...

Hitman hit the nail on the head
Its good to see you got an LS1 when you sold your old Z. If you need any help with the car feel free to ask, I am much more knowledgable with LS1's than LT1's (what can I say they are better motors )
oh and you know where to get parts from
NITRO DAVES!!!!

Re: Why does the LS1 rev so high with a small cam?
Thanks guys.
Hey Sean, do you think the TR220 would be a good cam with the stock converter and 2.73 gears??? I think I'd like to go the sleeper route this time and get something that idles close to stock but still gives me some power. Also, is Dave going to have a wideband and LS1edit? Who will be doing the tuning there? I want to get a dyno tune after the cam goes in.

actually you might want to look into this new cam thunder has been working on. Here is a link to a post about it.
Old Man cam
and yes Dave will have LS1edit tuning available
